Bubba Hughes

Mr. Hughes has a wealth of experience in all types of legal matters including litigation, government, public law and contracts. Mr. Hughes has litigated a wide range of matters in the state and federal courts, before arbitration boards and administrative bodies and the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Georgia Supreme Court and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. This litigation includes the defense of personal injury claims, including wrongful death, contract disputes, land use issues, construction and admiralty. Mr. Hughes has also represented several public and governmental entities, including the City of Tybee Island for 28 years and the Chatham County Public Health Department. From those representations, he has developed expertise in the Public Records Act, the Open Meetings Act, governance procedures, public financing, sovereign immunity, public employment law and administrative processes.
